Yes, he was a giant in his day in the NHL & CFL. The Old Guard is getting smaller & smaller.

Jamie, sorry not to get back to you sooner. Paul Dojack was a senior CFL referee as was Red Storey. They probably reffed together at some point in time in the CFL, I'll bet.
Dojack was an unbelievable official who know the CFL rule book, front, back & centre. There weren't many missed calls when he & his officiating crew did a game back in the 50's & 60's.
I believe that the missed call on the onside kick that cost the Stamps a game against BC two seasons ago would never have happened in a Paul Dojack officiated game.
Because Dojack probably saw onside kicks on a regular basis coming up thru the ranks to be a CFL official. I would think Dojack officiated amateur games in the 1930's back in Regina when the onside kick was still popular.
Like I said, Paul Dojack was outstanding.

I never saw Red Storey as a ref, but he was a one-of-a-kind writer and speaker. He was one of the Greats on the Canadian sports scene!

I agree with iso_55. Paul Dojack was the best referee!! :applause:
